LIGHT PAINTING WITH DRONES

We collaborated with Brighton Based 23 Digital to experiment with some light painting with drones. Shooting after dark up on the South Downs, we used an old ruined building as the centre point for the shot. We are really pleased with the outcome of the shoot and it was great to work on such experimental shots with another Brighton based drone company. At DoubleXAir we love a bit of drone long exposure photography and enjoyed the challenge of not only flying the drone in total darkness but also flying 2 drones together in the pitch black.

Working with Lume Cubes attached to the DJI Mavic 2,  we made light trails in the sky with the drone. We then captured the results on a 30s long exposure with our GH5 camera. The image above is our favourite shot of the night, although we shot about 30 different images. We look forward to working with 23 Digital again soon on more light painting with drones projects.
